Muncie Symphony Orchestra Holiday Tradition
Fisher | Shafer Holiday Pops…JOY!

When you think of the holidays, you think of snow, twinkling lights, a crackling fire, and of course, holiday music. The Muncie Symphony Orchestra is pleased to invite you to celebrate the rich and joyous sounds of the season with the annual Fisher | Shafer Holiday Pops concert on Saturday, December 5, at 4:00PM.  This performance takes place in Emens Auditorium on the campus of Ball State University, located at 1800 W. Riverside Ave., in Muncie, IN.

Tickets start at $25 for adults and $5 for youth, ages K-12. Call the Emens Box Office at 765-285-1539.

The energetic Artistic Director and Conductor, Doug Droste, leads the Muncie Symphony Orchestra in some well-known holiday classics and popular carols.

“I hope the Muncie community will join us for our annual Holiday Pops show, and for the first time this year it will be co-produced with Alan Alder and the BSU Singers”, said Droste. “This award-winning ensemble has thrilled audiences all over the world and they will again be joining forces with the MSO to bring Muncie a very festive, Broadway-style holiday show.”

Pre-concert activities begin at 3:00pm. “We’re excited to offer children’s activities for all of our family concerts this season,” said Jennifer Johnson, Executive Director for Muncie Symphony Orchestra. “Muncie Symphony League, WIPB, Muncie Ballet, Toys Forever Models & Hobbies, Ball State University Art Club, Ball State University Department of Theatre and Dance Students, MSO Instrument Petting Zoo and FREE family photos, will provide fun opportunities for families prior to the concert and during intermission.”

The Fisher | Shafer Holiday Pops will also feature performances by the Anderson Area Children’s Choir & Youth Chorale. With an enrollment of more than 140 students in grades two through twelve, the choir is dedicated to the art of excellent choral singing.

Bring the family to celebrate the holidays as only the Muncie Symphony can do. Roasted chestnuts and hot apple cider will be served to concert-goers during intermission.

This concert is generously supported by Presenting Sponsors, Old National Bank and Old National Wealth Management, and Concert Sponsors, Westminster Village and Murray’s Jewelers.  Generous 2015/16 season sponsorship is provided by Muncie Power Products.
