Ball State University will host the third Sursa American Organ Competition in September, 2019. The first prize winner of the Pre-Professional Division, Josiah Hamill, will perform with the MSO. He will perform on the Goulding & Wood organ in Sursa Performance Hall.
Elgar dedicated Enigma Variations “to my friends pictured within”, each variation being a musical sketch of his close acquaintances. Those portrayed include Elgar’s wife Alice, his friend and publisher Augustus J. Jaeger and Elgar himself.
