2006 League Scholarship winners!
The Muncie Symphony League has supported the orchestra since 1955.
The League plays an important role in promoting the orchestra and raising funds through such projects as the annual Holiday Chili Cook-off, Spring Plant Sale, Picnic Tables at the Symphony on the Green, and the Summer Symphony Tag Sale.
League Activities:
- Lunch with the Artist
Enjoy "Lunch with the Artist," intimate gatherings with the MSO's guest artists. Held at the Delaware Country Club, the lunches are a perfect way to gain valuable insight into the life of a performing artist. 2005/06 lunches are on the Friday prior to the concert from 11:30 - 1 PM. The cost is $16 dollars and reservations are due on the Tuesday before the Lunch. Please call 285.5531 for reservations.
- Annual Plant Sale - The Tradition Continues!
The Muncie Symphony League annual plant sale is back by popular demand! All profits support the MSO and student music scholarships. Wasson Nursery supplies hanging baskets, specialty baskets, and geraniums in a variety of colors. Order forms are available in the March at the MSO office, and with any Muncie Symphony League member. Deadline for orders is April 20, 2007. Plant pick up will be at First Presbyterian Church parking lot on April 28, 2007.
- Educational Programs
The League's support of educational programs is vital. It provides invaluable assistance and backing for several on-going MSO educational projects including the annual Young People's Concert.
- Music Scholarships
The Muncie Symphony League supports music education through the awarding of two music scholarships annually to two deserving BSU music students. Countless young people have been able to further their own education because of these scholarships. Call the MSO office at 285.5531 for more details.
- Fun Social Events
The League sponsors several social events for League members and their guests, including a fall membership luncheon and a spring appreciation tea. Call the MSO office at 285.5531 for more details.
Mark Your Calendar for the 2006 Holiday Chili Cook-off!
The League sponsors the Chili Cook-off at the Horizon Convention Center, Thursday, December 7 from 5-8 pm. Sample chili from competing restaurants and enjoy a bowl of your favorite choice as part of your downtown experience. For more details and tickets, please call 285.5531.
